Feelin' hot, hot, HOT.

Miss Lychee and India Oleander swept us away to the tropics for an afternoon. Dr. Sketchy's inaugural '08 session at the High Noon in Madison, Wisconsin was HOT and sweaty.

A tsunami of skillful sketches was produced by the January crowd. We welcomed lots of newbies for the start of the 2008. Even the fez-wearing attendee from Kenosha got sketched! And our squid friend simply took the opportuntity to get sh*tfaced.

It was a good time. Can you believe that those gorgeous models brought their own inflatable palm tree along to the gig?! Sweet.

Dr. Sketchy's went off with a bang

Girls with guns. Who can resist? We sure couldn't! Cosplay model Fawn began her session posing as Lara Croft from the videogame Tomb Raider. START GAME.

The geeks at Sketchy's were in heaven on this one... or Angel Sanctuary, to be more accurate. For the second series of poses Fawn was dressed as Alexiel from the manga and anime series created by Kaori Yuki.

The costuming details were astounding! There was even dirt on her wings. Sigh. To see more evidence of this delightful sight and the resulting sketches, check out our flickr pool.

Amid the flurry of costume changes and the onslaught of crazy contests, artists still found time to actually DRAW. (Wowie, good stuff, too!) Phew, all that PLUS an abundant flow of cocktails, as well as the usual requisite misbehavior and oddball shenanigans.

Amazing prizes (and LOTS of 'em) were provided this month by Artist & Craftsman Supply, Lisa at Hair Forum, A Woman's Touch, Mallatt Pharmacy & Costume, and Westfield Comics. Many thanks to all of our great local sponsors!

When Fawn arrived on stage as Rikku from Final Fantasy X our pencils were poised and READY.

Our Official Mistress of Photography, the mysterious phantomkitty was ready, too. Her keen eye captured every detail of the event. And this time, she got HER photo taken also. (The guy kissing her is her hubby, illustrious illustrator and Dr. Sketchy's-Madison co-founder, G.P. Watson.)

Tricks and treats at Dr. Sketchy's!

Boy, oh BOY! It was another swell month at Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School. Hauntingly gorgeous beefcake, "Boy" of Cherry Pop Burlesque, was our October model and served as quite a fine treat for our artists.

He certainly got us all eager beaver for HALLOWEENIE!

Boy began by demonstrating his athleticism in a Mexican wrestling costume and later brought out his giant banana to serve up some more delectable poses. Check out our flickr group, if you're curious to see more pix and drawings of said banana!

Olive demonstrated her muscular musical prowess by playing the theremin with her thighs. Beware: an exercise video may be in the works. [Cue scary music.]

School Daze at Sketchy’s

September we went “back-to-school” with burlesquers Betty Wantsme and Kitty LaRue of Foxy Veronica’s Peach Pies modeling all of their kinkiest classroom behaviors.

Things got so out of control we had to call in Principal Dickums to give the girls a talking to. Was Betty even listening?!

Later, Kitty and Betty served up the BEST brown bag lunch EVER: themselves! A Sketchy’s regular, Sarah, won herself a wash, cut, and style from Lisa at Hair Forum with her supercute rendering of K and B in their lunch sack outfits. Other cool prizes were provided by Artist & Craftsman Supply and A Woman’s Touch.

Cherie D’Amour of Cherry Pop Burlesque stopped by to serve overdue book notices to our September birthday celebrants. When she surprised the crowd by performing her naughty librarian striptease, she sent us into a fit of longing for card catalogs and a few sweet hours in the stacks.

We learned all sorts of swell lessons from Betty and Kitty. Competitors in the dirty word spelling bee were impressive but no one was able to make it all the way through "gynotikoglobomassophile." And illustrator Glenn Watson was voted “Most Likely to Use a Trapper Keeper to Obscure a Trouser Bulge” by his Sketchy classmates. It was a pretty damn good day at Anti-Art School.

Curious to learn more? Kitty LaRue filed before and after reports of her wild ride as a Dr. S model on thedailypage.com

NEXT UP: Celebrate Halloween, Dr. Sketchy’s-style, on Sunday, October 21st, 2007 from 2-5 PM at the High Noon Saloon, 701 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI. ($10/ 21 and UP)

Spend an afternoon drawing ghastly zombies, blood-sucking vampires, and one hauntingly gorgeous hunk! OUR OCTOBER MODEL IS: beefcake extraordinaire BOY of Cherry Pop Burlesque! Come help event emcee Olive Talique scare the pants off of him...

Trick or TREAT?!

We’re planning plenty of artful tricks and treats for the event. In addition to all of the usual crazy drawing challenges and prize giveaways, there will be a contest for best Halloween costume this month, too.

Sketchy's magic carpet ride

The August Sketchy’s session had us flying high on a magic carpet ride with our gorgeous model bellydancer Seana Dishun of Ashar Dance Company.

Prizes were awarded to audience members in a bellydance-off competition. Bellies wiggled fast and furiously. It was a tough call but the “Bellyrific” team won in the end. It was just one of the many crazy contests we sprung on the artists this month. (Just wait ‘til you find out what we’ve got in our notebooks for next time!)

at the High Noon Saloon from 2-5PM
with burlesque babes
BETTY WANTSME and KITTY LaRUE
of Foxy Veronica's Peach Pies!

Ohhh my, they're gonna teach us a lesson or two. Two of Madison's sauciest and sassiest burlesquers, our September models Kitty and Betty will have you begging to be kept after class. Teacher's pet? You wish. These gals join forces to bring the perfect mix of mischief and hilarity to the Sketchy's scene. Emcee Olive Talique will be there as usual...handing out detention slips to all misbehaving artists...

Didn't think summer could get any hotter?

Our July model, fetish goddess April Paradis, whipped us up into a sweaty, art-making frenzy! Hot, hot, HOT! (Special thanks to Miss delicate MICH for recommending April.)

Things are only going to heat up more in August with mesmerizing moves of our bellydancer model, the very sultry Seana Dishun on August 19th from 2-5pm at the High Noon Saloon.

At our most recent gig we tested out a new device: the Debauch-O-Meter. Glenn designed it in order for us to be able to scientifically measure the debaucherous output of our audience. As it turns out, they did pretty well at the July '07 session...

is it getting hot in here?

Ever the committed bunch of artistes, our Sketchy's gang generated lots of beautiful drawings of April, as well as several episodes of playful misbehavior. You can check out both by visiting our Dr. Sketchy's Madison flickr pool for a voyeuristic peek.

Contests included blindfolded drawing, best incorporation of feathers, and a competition during which we tied artists' hands behind their backs and had them draw with their pens in their mouths. This month's birthday boys and girls were spanked with Pixie Stix and sent merrily on their way.

MANY THANKS to our JULY PRIZE SPONSORS - Artist & Craftsman Supply, Lisa at Hair Forum, A Woman's Touch, and Amsterdam. (April reported finding her fantastic buckle boots at the latter establishment.)
